Fashion week surprise: DKNY

I haven't been following Fashion Week much because spring/summer isn't my preferred season. But I just fell in love with this DKNY collection.

The pinstripes! The minimalism! The odd but not too odd shapes! It's like someone snuck into my subconscious and figured out what I didn't know I wanted yet.

That's not to say I love every piece, of course, or that I'll even buy any particular item. But there's plenty of inspiration.

Apparently DKNY has new designers this year, the ultra-hip Public School designers.

Are any of you following the shows? Any surprise (or not-so-surprise) favorites?

I also liked the handwriting of the DKNY collection, Rosetta Getty has been my favourite so far http://www.vogue.co.uk/fashion.....etta-getty

Just started following and like what I'm seeing.  I get the impression that there are a lot more skirted looks vs pants, trousers, or shorts -  that white continues it's popularity,  - that simplicity is 'in' -  and  low footwear is here to stay.

I like this look too, esp for everyday. Go black and white!

I just started watching the shows. Lots of romance, flounce and retro futurism. I LOVE IT.

Donna Karan has retired, and this show is so very '90s. WOW.

I love those looks, too, Greyscale. I could see wearing a bunch of them just as they are -- and they would look extraordinary on you.

I really like some of these too.
And did you see the sheer socks? I kind of like those!

I was enamored with the styling at A Detacher

Smittie, I did see the sheer socks! And started searching online to buy some. They were in a while ago, maybe 5 years ago, and I never quite managed to copy the look. So I'm excited to try again.

Unfortunately my legs are 6" shorter than models' legs, and sturdier, so I'm not sure the proportions will work as well on me. But we'll see. I have oxfords and loafers that would work well with sheer ankle socks.
